i'm from israel and i've been to rokiskis to see the town where my grandmother was born run away from when the nazis and their collaboretors came. from what i manged to learn from the lithuanian guide we hired, on photo 5, one of the small houses near the mansion was used as a holding place for resisting jews and russian communists until all of the prisoners and jews were killed in one of the nearby woods.

I know there is a Jewish graveyard in Rokiskis, because someone in Israel sends money to a non-Jewish woman there to care for the place. Unless it has been erased over the last ten years or so (the last time I heard of this arrangement).

I was depressed by this film as I could not see any signs that Jews had lived there. No Synagogues, not even a ruin. No sign of a grave yard.
Is it because the Jewish gravestones were used as paving stones by Lithuanians?
